Bionobis and JETA Molecular Awarded EFS Tender for Chimerism Monitoring.

Bionobis (Guyancourt, France) and JETA Molecular (Utrecht, The Netherlands) today announced that JETA's new QTRACE™ Analysis System for cell-free DNA and chimerism analysis by quantitative PCR (qPCR) has been selected as the chimerism monitoring solution of choice by the Établissement Français du Sang (EFS - the French National Blood Service). Bionobis won a four-year, competitive tender to supply JETA's reagents and software. 

The EFS is the leading supplier of cell and tissue therapy products to health-care establishments in France, enabling solid organ and hematopoietic stem-cell transplants to be performed on patients. Once patients receive stem cell transplants, they must be monitored at regular intervals throughout their lifetime to assess engraftment of the transplanted cells and the recurrence of residual disease. Chimerism testing is routinely performed on patients who lack molecular markers specific to their disease. 

Dr. Stéphanie Ducreux, a medical biologist from the Laboratoire HLA EFS Rhone Alpes, assisted in recent evaluations in Lyon, France. She cited that "the most important reasons (for choosing JETA's products) were that their genotyping solution uses 42 markers and showed high informativity during the testing phase in our laboratory. The monitoring solution also convinced us, due to its sensitivity, precision and accuracy. The QTRACE™ markers allowed detection of 0.1% chimerism with 150ng input DNA. Finally, the QTRACE™ software automatically identifies informative markers and quantifies chimerism levels, while including reagent tracking - which is absolutely necessary due to quality assurance requirements. JETA Molecular showed a true willingness to help us improve this software for compliance with our needs and that made a real difference.
